Abington Heights Freshman Girls Basketball Dominates Wallenpaupack

Leading the charge for Abington Heights was 8th-grader Lavin Vecerkauskas, who scored a game-high 23 points. Mackenzie Jenkins, a seventh-grader, also reached double figures, scoring 15 points. The dynamic duo set the tone for the game, displaying abilities and confidence much above their years.

On the opposite side, Wallenpaupack’s Nalie George scored 7 points and Molly Cunningham added 6 in a valiant, but ultimately unsuccessful, effort to keep the game close.

With such a great bunch of junior high players already making an impact, the future of Abington Heights girls basketball appears brighter than ever. The program appears to be on track for long-term success as these emerging talents are ready to make their impact at the varsity level.

In other news, the rest of Abington Heights’ freshman basketball season will now be played at Abington Heights Middle School. This shift is the result of minor improvements being completed at Clarks Summit Elementary, the team’s regular home court.

The Abington Heights freshman squad has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, and fans are looking forward to their continued success in future games.
